Madden NFL 23 apologizes for to officiating mistake during Washington-New York game

There was some controversy on Sunday night when at the end of the game , an official was mistakenly signaling for a first down and moved the chains. The chains were reversed in the next play and changed to fourth down. Madden NFL 23 vice president of officiating Dean Blandino said the crew did not know the correct procedure and should stop play to rectify the issue.

"In the situation in which there is obvious confusion about the nature of the down play should be stopped prior third down and with the correct down was communicated to both clubs. It should have happened regardless of Washington did not have timeouts, and it took just the two-minute time limit."

Jay Cutler "week-to-week"

Jay Cutler is reportedly targeting his return to the field in Week 14 following the ankle injury he suffered, but his status for the game on Monday isn't known until after this week. Bears manager Marc Trestman said Cutler remains "week-to-week."

The Bears will resume their practice on Thursday. Cutler's performance amount could go a great way in determining the team's status against Dallas. If he's in a position to participate, even in limited fashion then he may be in good shape to be back on Monday. If not, it may have to Josh McCown getting another start for the Bears.
