JamesK100 makes some good points. Games with huge rating margins are not usually very interesting. But the favored player must always be careful of overconfidence.
There is some disincentive for high rated players to participate as there is risk, but little or no reward in those unbalanced games.
Banded play tends to produce more exciting and competitive events. For an open event, I might suggest a Swiss System, which sorts out playing strength and matches after the first couple of rounds.
To Stoney X, can you post an explanation of the scoring system?
If more than one player tops a group, then all the players the have tied for the lead progress to the next round.
JamesK100, all the tournaments are basically the same. The only difference is the number of players per group. If the players per group is set to the same as the max number of players in the tournament then it is played as a league where there is only one round and everybody plays everbody else.
